Heike Rudloff, freelance journalist and author

As an author of artist portraits, I am both rapporteur and translator. My experience as an author, journalist, trainer and lecturer, as well as my extensive experience in the field of personality development – especially my interest in other people and their life stories – is the foundation of my work. My close collaboration with the artists, listening, understanding and intuition produce the material that translates into their stories.

After graduating with an MA in Communications, International Law and Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, I trained and learned to work as a journalist at the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich; later I gained experience as a biographer, writing a biographical book for Rohnstock Biografien, a Berlin-based publishing house specializing in biographies.

Today, as an author, I write short, biographical portraits of artists, about art and longer portraits for art exhibition catalogues and international reports on art exhibitions: I recount the artists’ stories, how they became what they are today and describe what inspires and motivates them – the personal stories underlying their art.
